Question by Joe: How do I get around proxy detectors?

I want to use a proxy to appear from a different country for a website, but this website has a detector that can tell if you are using a proxy and automatically bans it. How can I get around this?

I dislike Proxies as they are tools used by spyware and Browser hijackers to infect your computer!
Anyway, to go around that problem, just type http://www.google.com (or your country) then type in the search engine bar for instance to go to France: http://www.google.fr

I am assuming that you are asking this for completely legal reasons…

Proxy detectors are actually very simple in how they operate and both simple and complex to bypass.

What they are doing is not so much detecting proxies as they are detecting your address on the internet. They do this as a normal part of their filtering to also detect the country you are coming from.

When you use a proxy, you connect using the proxy’s address. Eventually the site administrator may notice a pattern and discover that that address belongs to a proxy, which they will then block. Unless that proxy somehow acquires a new address, it can no longer be used to access that site.

Which is what makes it both simple and complex, or in other words ‘easier said than done’. You just need to use a proxy they haven’t noticed yet.

The only way to do this without searching proxies one by one is to create your own. However, to do this, you will need a computer and an internet connection *in that country*. If you have a friend located in that country who is willing to do this for you, they can install a proxy server on their own computer which you can then use.
